Postpartum Doula Support - $75 / hour

The early days and weeks after birth can be tender, beautiful, and overwhelming all at once.

As your postpartum doula, I come alongside you so that you feel supported, rested, and confident as you grow into your new role as a parent (or as a growing family).

Each visit is flexible and tailored to what you need that day.

HOW OUR VISITS WORK

We’ll start each session with a gentle check-in: a short debrief about how you’re doing, how the baby is doing, and what feels most urgent or important. Together we’ll identify priorities for the visit and create a simple plan for our time.

Below are examples of what we can work on together. Every family is different, and no two visits look exactly the same.

NEW PARENT CARE

Caring for the baby also means caring for the person who gave birth. During our visits, we might:

  • Remind the family how to take care of the postpartum body

  • Review how to make frozen pads for vaginal swelling or breast engorgement

  • Go over a soothing sitz bath recipe

  • Review nipple care and basic breast/chest care

  • Talk through signs of postpartum depression and how they differ from the “baby blues”

  • Offer referrals to trusted specialists (physical therapists, lactation consultants, mental health providers, etc.)

  • Review normal postpartum physical changes and what deserves more attention

  • Listen to your birth story and your thoughts about the transition into parenthood

  • Put together a list of personal resources, and help you connect with other families (including virtually)

LACTATION & FEEDING SUPPORT

Whether you are breast/chestfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, or doing some combination, we can:

  • Practice different feeding positions and work on getting a comfortable latch

  • Learn how to use your breast pump and set it up in a way that fits your life

  • Learn hand expression techniques

  • Make a simple hands-free pumping bra

  • Work with your partner on how they can best support the breastfeeding parent

  • Learn how to bottle-feed in a responsive, baby-led way

BABY CARE

For many parents, practical hands-on baby care is a big relief. Together we can:

  • Give baby’s first bath or refine your bath routine

  • Explore infant comforting touch and calming techniques

  • Practice soothing methods (movement, sound, swaddling, etc.)

  • Learn and practice babywearing safely and comfortably

  • Review baby items you have and their purpose (what you truly need now vs later)

  • Do baby naked time or tummy time and talk about safe positioning

  • Review diapering, including cloth diapering options and routines

  • Talk through umbilical cord care or circumcision care

If you’re wondering whether postpartum support might be right for you, you’re warmly invited to reach out or book a short call so we can talk about your needs, your family, and what kind of care would feel most supportive in this season.
